Detailed Product Description

Available in multiple sizes to suit any environment, this piece of artwork displays Lewis Hamilton's (second) 2020 helmet, on a purple background, with references to the 2020 Mercedes F1 car livery, and the red star in memory of Niki Lauda. 

Lewis Hamilton is a six-time F1 world champion (2008/14/15/17/18/19). This year, he is chasing his seventh world title, an extraordinary feat which, should be be successful in pursuing, we equal the great Michael Schumacher's record of seven world titles. 

This helmet is Lewis Hamilton's second of 2020. 

Before the major COVID outbreak across the globe, Hamilton arrived at the season-opener in Melbourne with a different design to this one. The helmet was white, and some small details were slightly different to this current version, such as the quote on the back saying "Still I Rise", instead of "Still We Rise" like it says currently. We created a print of Lewis Hamilton's first 2020 helmet design which you can see here. 

His new helmet has been changed from white to black as a statement of support for the Black Lives Matter movement, which was brought to the forefront of the world's news during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic. The driver's suits were also changed to black, along with the Mercedes F1 car livery as well. 

The car livery features a pattern of "Mercedes stars" on the engine cover, one of these stars is red, this is a tribute to Niki Lauda, who, before he passed away in 2019, was not only a non-executive chairman of Mercedes F1 team, but was also the man who managed to convince Lewis Hamilton to join Mercedes. It is fair to say that had Lauda not convinced Hamilton to move from McLaren and join the German outfit, he would not have enjoyed the same levels of success he has today.
