Detailed Product Description

Available in multiple sizes to suit any environment, this piece of artwork provides a visual illustration of the top three finishers of the 1970 Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship.

  1. Jochen Rindt
  2. Jacky Ickx
  3. Clay Regazzoni

We want our podium artwork to tell stories, which is why we have put a short run-through of the championship, and its tragic climax, in the text that features above the podium. This text reads:

“Jochen Rindt is the only driver to have won the Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship posthumously. He was what many motorsport enthusiasts would consider a raw racer. Tragically, Rindt died in an accident at Monza before the entrance of the iconic Parabollica corner; just meters away from where his lifelong hero, Wolfgang Von Trips, lost his life in a crash nine years earlier, in 1961.”.

Each helmet has been drawn by hand. We wanted to do our best in replicating the helmet designs of all three drivers for that season. However, we draw these helmets from scratch with nothing more than a few photographs in our archives as a reference. With that in mind, we humbly ask for your understanding should you notice any imperfections.
